Pretty rotten of them to not only do that but also not communicate it to their users. I was curious after reading this and jumped in the BN chat. Hopefully this is just a temporary removal but with Barnes and Noble you never know what to expect. This is just the latest in a long list of things that Barnes and Noble has done to estrange Nook customers, from partitioning storage space on Nooks to limit sideloaded content to removing the ability to download purchased ebooks for backup. But the Nook Windows app is no longer available so what are they talking about? On the product pages for Nook books it says they are compatible with Nook for PC, and their mobile apps page still advertises the Nook app for PC on the Windows Store. At this point they are outright lying to customers. The worst part is Barnes and Noble is still claiming that Nook books are supported on Windows computers, but that clearly is not true. The Nook for PC app has been unavailable for at least the past week and a half now. If anyone has any pointers drop me a line or two at rcook525 (you know the symbol) hotmail.Apparently the app still works if you already have it installed, so maybe they just took the app down temporarily to fix something, but considering B&N’s past behavior it’s hard to give them the benefit of the doubt. Had hopes thsat 1.4.1 would allow it to be installed like the Nook Tablet. Get error message "gospel-library-GM-bl6-2.0.2.2-z.apk" " The NOOK cannot read this file. I do have to do a search to find the Gospel Library every time but that doesn't take much time and it is great to have the whole library on my NOOK Tablet.ĭid the Barnes & Noble (B&N) update to the Nook Color (NC) and will confirm that it will not install the. I am going to try the same thing with LDS Tools and the Mormon Channel. This was great - now I don't have to wait for the app to come out in the App store and I didn't even have to root. I hit the Nook button below the screen and tapped the Search Icon and put Gospel Library in the search box and there it was the Gospel Lbrary App, tapped it and away I went. I was sad at first because it didn't show up in my Apps on the NOOK Tablet. I then had to tap the apk file again and now it came up with a screen that asked me if I wanted the App Installer or the Package Installer and I tapped the Package Installer and the Gospel Library was installed. I tapped on it in the notification area and was taken to a screen that said Application settings at the top I put a check in the Allow installation of non-Market applications.
